Throwback Thursdays- On the Go

Out spoken and trendy with his poka-dot tie and pin strip blazer, Howard Green speaks at a 1983 ICSC conference on the importance of an on site presence. Green says, "It’s the job of the institutes to train the managerial people so well that they can educate the owner’s rather then vice-versa."

Throwback Thursdays- Cheer Your Way to the Top

Promotional events have always attracted shopper to the mall but in the case of the 1982 Cheerleading contest at Golden Ridge Mall, profits sky rocketed. Through extensive research the mall was able to host an appropriate event and attract their target audience. G-O S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G!!

Throwback Thursdays- Redevelopment

Tanenbaum speaks on redevelopment circa 1974. Interviewed by ICSC, sporting thick rim glasses Tanenbaum advises:  "You can’t have redevelopment of an existing center if you don’t have an existing center."  He also stated , "Redevelopment will be the direction developers are heading to in the next decade."
